5 Aug

‘Globo Esporte’ claims Lucas Moura is about to joining PSG for a fee higher than 38 million Euros. He was earlier rumored to be close to joining Manchester United.

Inter Milan are also rumored to be interested in signing him.

The Brazilian news site says Alex Ferguson tried to contact Lucas Moura all day to convince him not to join PSG but he could not do so. Lucas Moura was also told by other players that Manchester is a boring city.

PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi loves Lucas and made an effort to sign him when he was closer to Manchester United, PSG’s director Leonardo has good relations with both Lucas Moura’s agent Wagner Ribeiro and with São Paulo.

Wagner Ribeiro was in Paris during the weekend, and even watched the game between PSG and Barcelona on Saturday.

Lucas Moura is expected to sign a 5-year contract with the French club, the medical will take place on August 15th, after Brazil’s game against Sweden in Stockholm.

PSG will need to free a non-EU spot to make room for Lucas Moura, if they fail to do so now, Lucas Moura is expected to join in January.

São Paulo have not confirmed or denied the story yet. If the transfer is confirmed, it will be the highest transfer ever in Brazilian football history, surpassing that of Oscar to Chelsea.

Cable TV channel Sportv (which is owned by Globo like Globo Esporte) is also reporting the above, but other Brazilian sources are yet to confirm this story.

Obs: Notice that this text above is a summary of what ‘Globo Esporte’ said, just that.

Obs2: Italian Sky reports the transfer fee is €45 million, and that Lucas Moura will join the French team in January.
