Rumors are growing in the Italian press that Milan’s midfielder Clarence Seedorf will join Botafogo once his current contract expires.

The Dutch player is married to a Brazilian woman, speaks Portuguese and owns an apartment in Rio de Janeiro.

Botafogo’s coach Oswaldo de Oliveira has also confirmed they are interested in signing Seedorf.

The Brazilian side dominated most of the game and was benefited by the fact a Chirag United Kerala player was sent off. Botafogo will meet Southern Samity next Monday.

Botafogo have been invited to participate in India’s traditional IFA Shield tournament, the Brazilian side will be represented by their Under 23 team. If they will, they will join the likes of Peñarol and Bayern II as foreign winners of the IFA Shield.

Botafogo debut on March 9th against Chirag United Kerala, the final will be played on March 16th.

The trailer of film “Heleno”, about Botafogo’s and Brazil’s national team temperamental star of the 1940s Heleno de Freitas has been released.

Heleno de Freitas’ role is played by Rodrigo Santoro, famous actress Alinne Moraes also stars in the film.

Botafogo’s star of the 1940s Heleno de Freitas will have his life depicted on a film called “Heleno – O Príncipe Maldito”, Heleno de Freitas’ role will be played by famous actor Rodrigo Santoro. Actress Alinne Moraes will also star the film, which will be released on March 16th, 2012.

Heleno de Freitas played most of his career at Botafogo, becoming one of the club’s best players ever, but he is more famous for his bohemian and controversial life as well as his poor temperament.

He died in 1959, following complications caused by syphilis.
